2004 - Adobe Photoshop - Corel Painter - NewTek LightWave 3D - Autodesk Combustion
This is any of the most important set in the project: the house of the little dragon “Tip”, his brother “Trick” and their magic grandpa Alchemius.
I used NewTek LightWave 3D to model and render this environment, Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter for the texturing process and Autodesk Combustion to add effects such as: motion blur, depth of field, smoke, glows, and volumetric lights.
I illuminated this environment with 110 spot lights, placed one by one in order to simulate light bounces, and only a part of these lights uses shadow maps.
I decided to avoid raytraced shadows or global illumination algorithms in order to have a very short render time.
