2004 - Adobe Photoshop - Corel Painter - NewTek LightWave 3D
I designed this crazy table clock (1) to represent the Alchemius curious character, that mixes science and magic together.
After some very fast sketches I started modeling and animating the mechanism directly in 3D, in order to have a better feedback from the director about the dynamic aspects of this object.
Many details of the objects such as wood cracks and splinters (3), the damaged pages of an old book (4) and the dirtiness of its cover (6) , or the colored occlusion shadows (2), are directly painted onto the textures, because the particular style of the rendering (see also: art direction guidelines).
Around the table clock, I placed some interesting props that speak about our place of origin, such as: A reinterpretation of Leonardo’s Monnalisa (5) , some drawings by Michelangelo Buonarroti and Leonardo Da Vinci, a small Pinocchio and a grater for Parmesan cheese!
